Below is a copy of the e-mail that I have sent to Dave regarding his
continual "copying and pasting" of data on this website and the Bergen Scanner
website. I will post any responses that I receive here until such time
that he either: gives proper credit to other webmasters when copying their
information; links to our webpages; or, simply stops "copying and pasting" our
data.
10-3-04: Nearly
six months later, Dave has not responded to my e-mail, nor has he updated the
content of his site. Not only is his site still copied from others, but it
also contains outdated information.

Subject: Please change the content of your website
Dave,
Please be advised that I have again viewed your
website and find that the Sussex, Morris, Warren and Passaic County pages are
copied verbatim from the pages that I have spent countless hours designing and
maintaining on the Northwest Corner Website. I have previously e-mailed you
to this regard a few years back, and note that you still continue to "copy and
paste" information from my site and also from the Bergen Scanner website.
As a result, I have posted a special announcement
on my website regarding this situation, so the scanning community is properly
educated. While the information on my site is certainly not copyrighted, I
feel that your efforts would better serve the scanning community if you:
1) Simply linked the copied pages to the
appropriate sections of my website and the Bergen Scanner website; or,
2) If you are really set on the copying of the
data, make a note at the bottom stating that it was copied from the Northwest
Corner Website on the date last updated; or,
3) Directed your efforts towards creating and
maintaining accurate pages that do not currently exist on the web, such as for
Essex County.
I just made a bunch of changes to my website last
night. I present you with a special challenge to follow steps 1 or 2 above,
or once again "copy and paste" the whole thing like you have done for the last
few years.
I look forward to hearing from you regarding the
changes you plan on making. Please be advised that this e-mail will be posted
on my website, along with any replies that indicate that you are, or are not
willing to work harmoniously with other scanning frequency web designers.
Thanks,
Webmaster
